Anne Fontaine: Classics With An Edgy Elegance

Who doesn’t love a great white shirt? Whether it’s for a casual event or a dressy night out on the town. We all love and no doubt are constantly on the lookout for the next white top to add to our closet. I’m thrilled to share with each of you a favorite brand of mine, Anne Fontaine. If you’ve heard of Anne Fontaine before then you must know that her brand is synonymous with the white shirt. She believes that, ”the iconic White Shirt is the quintessential piece for every woman’s wardrobe. Whether stand alone or paired with statement jewelry, our classic, tailored dress shirts and elegant blouses make any outfit.” And yes I couldn’t agree more. Anne Fontaine’s classic, edgy white shirts are a go-to in my closet always! The Anne Fontaine brand was conceived after she and her husband discovered an old trunk filled with white shirts. At that moment they both decided to take over his family’s clothing business. Over the years the white shirt has been the main staple of women everywhere. The Anne Fontaine brand developed into a lifestyle brand with a complete wardrobe around the simple white shirt. And shortly after Anne expanded with a line of accessories (including handbags, shoes, scarves, sunglasses, collars, cufflinks, belts and jewelry) and even adding skirts, pants, camisoles, knits, dresses and outerwear as well.

After visiting her website (or brick and mortar store if you are lucky enough to have one near you) you will see that the majority of her designs are black and white pieces. What I love most about this is the simplicity of deciding what to wear for those of you that get easily intimidated and overwhelmed by color. Since 1993 Anne Fontaine has had a beautiful store in Highland Park Village in Dallas, Texas just down the street from my house. If I have an event coming up I know that I can just pop in there and find something to wear that’s always beautiful, classic, and my favorite even a little edgy too.

For both of my looks I chose two very fashionable white blouses (I know you’re shocked) and a super cool black or white interchangeable tassel belt as well. In my first look from the Anne Fontaine Spring Summer Collection 2017 I am wearing the CAITLYN Blouse (and it is on SALE for 30% OFF right now as well)! It is a sleeveless shirt in pleated poplin, adorned with an organza yoke at the shoulders and is fitted at the waist with a poplin belt. This chic and fresh design creates instant allure thanks to its many elaborate details. I am wearing a French size 36 in this blouse (I went down a size for a more fitted silhouette) I am normally a size 4 in blouses with a a 34 bust. I have also paired mine with the the FEELING Belt (just love that name). This belt is a soft leather belt from our Spring-Summer 2017 Collection as well. And one of the most versatile items in the collection as it can we born in both black and white. This piece also comes with matching removable tassel ties in both black and white. And also looks great paired with your favorite dress or skirt. I am wearing a size 1 for reference.

My second look is also from the Anne Fontaine Spring Summer Collection 2017. I am wearing the CALVINA Silk Blouse with white fluid crepe and mesh yoke along with black piping and lace-up closure (and it is on SALE for 30% OFF right now as well)! The CALVINA top is a perfect addition to anyone’s summer wardrobe and can easily take you into fall and throughout the year. My favorite part of this blouse is the transparency throughout the sleeves and yoke by creating an oh so feminine look. For reference I am wearing a French size 38 in this blouse. (I bought this one in a size larger than my other blouse for reference, this blouse is TTS my normal size is a 4/34 bust).
