I honestly had complete sticker shock when I looked at the price of this blazer. But not in the bad way like I usually do, in a very good way. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the impeccable quality of this pinstriped blazer and to my surprise it was actually priced for less than $100! It is such a beautiful color that I knew I just had to have it. Not to mention this gorgeous color of red would be just perfect for Valentine’s Day (be sure to check out all my VDay picks). Today I am wearing my favorite flared tuxedo pants for a dressier look. But I know you won’t be surprised when I tell you that I have worn this pinstriped blazer mostly around town paired with my favorite denim instead. What I love most about a good statement piece is one that has the versatility to be easily dressed up or down. I liked this velvet blazer so that much that I even bought it in black as well (the black is now back in stock!). I had a wonderful start to 2018 celebrating with family and dear friends by a bonfire on the beach with way too many fireworks (two extra-large boxes from Costco to be exact, we never thought it would end) and lots of food and drink for all! With all the fun and excitement of the New Year we must also remember that this is a time of reflection on our previous year. What can we work on going forward? What should we try to do more of or less of in 2018? What are some positive ways that we can not only do better for ourselves but for others as well? I’ve decided that this year I am done with resolutions! No more for me. We all must do what works for us and for me I just end up breaking those a few days or weeks in and then I’m done. So this year I have decided to set some intentions instead. I’m thrilled to share today my Intentions, Wellness Tips, and a Few Favorite Things for 2018. Not sure about each of you but I am definitely in need of a little detox from my trip. I enjoyed myself but I did fall off the wagon just a bit as far as my healthy eating and drinking goes. I do believe in moderation and I did still workout while on vacation (just obviously not as often as I do when I’m home) but I am ready to get back on my normal healthy track. Well we finally made it back home to Dallas and I will no doubt will be needing this fur jacket to help keep me warm. It was only 24 degrees yesterday when we landed. Quite a big culture shock to the system since the last two weeks we have been on the beach soaking up some sun in Hawaii for the holidays with family and friends. Not sure about all of you but I’ve had a huge obsession with the Balmain double-breasted blazer for as long as I can remember. I would say that this fabulously fitted wool-twill blazer has been worn by more celebrities, fashion icons, fashion bloggers and fashion insiders than I can count. If the price tag were not so dang high I would most definitely have purchased one by now. But with a price tag of $2,385.00 I just cannot reasonably spend that kind of money even for this widely famous double-breasted, with its perfectly fitted silhouette and its beautifully placed gold buttons. Another blazer obsession of mine would no doubt be Veronica Beard’s blazers as well. While these blazers are significantly less than Balmain’s and a classic that also will never go out of style, they tend come with a slightly high price tag as well.
