College Game Day Attire
What should you wear to a College Football Game? Plus what’s the accessory I have that I cannot live without? Find out on the blog today…In this latest edition of the ‘Street Edit’ with fellow Dallas Fashion Blogger and good friend, Heather Anderson of So Heather.
What are your school’s colors? My college game day attire colors are burnt orange and white; honestly, SSS I swear I think my heart bleeds burnt orange. I always wear a white outfit with touches of burnt orange (like I have here), or a burnt orange top, jeans, skirt or even a dress to college football games. I cannot believe that it’s already opening weekend, where has the summer gone? Not sure about you, but I am a huge college football fan. I absolutely love going to watch my Texas Longhorns play. I just wish someone reading this would send me a ticket to this weekend’s season opener in Austin, Texas on Sunday night. We are playing Notre Dame. And there’s no one I’d rather beat (well maybe the Aggies, lol) than those Irish. Haha
Seriously one of the best days of my life (besides getting married and the birth of my three girls of course) was when we attended the National Championship Game winning the 2006 Rose Bowl against the USC Trojans for the national championship. Numerous publications have cited this victory as standing among one of the greatest performances in college football history. ESPN awarded the 2006 ESPY Award for the “Best Game” in any sport to the Longhorns and the Trojans. The Longhorns finished as the only unbeaten team in NCAA Division I-A football that year, with thirteen wins and zero losses. The final minutes were absolutely insane and of course the after-party was as well!
I’ve grown to love our school colors but others (usually the freshman) are a tab bit perplexed at what to wear. Burnt orange isn’t your typical color that one chooses to wear; but it is especially a fabulous fall color and looks great with most complexions. I am doing a series of three posts regarding ‘how to wear burnt orange’ that I know you will enjoy whether you are a longhorn fan or not. And yes that goes for all my Sooner and Aggie friends as well.
Enjoy cheering on your team this weekend, whoever that may be, and throughout the football season. For me its my favorite time of the year and I cannot wait for it to begin!

P.S. What’s that round key chain with attached card case on my arm? Just the most fabulous invention ever! Trying to grab your coffee and still messing with your keys? Can’t pick up your groceries and grab your keys out of your handbag? Having trouble juggling your books, kids, or your water bottle? Well then this remarkable invention is just for you! Its called the ‘Big O Key Ring’ and it’s 4 inches in diameter that can fit over your wrist or above your elbow for maximum flexibility and a truly hands free experience. Their clasp allows for quick removal at the valet and you won’t break your nails. Plus scratch resistant, water repellant leather ensures that your purchase stays O-mazing! You MUST give it a try, I for one, cannot live without mine.
