A couple of weeks ago I was invited to go on a fun road trip to Tyler, Texas with some blogger friends of mine:

Heather Anderson of So Heather
Brooke Burnett of One Small Blonde
Tanya Foster of Tanya Foster
Cathy Williamson of The Middle Page

So you might be asking yourself why would 5 bloggers from Dallas, Texas all hop in the car and drive to Tyler, Texas? Well the answer is now very easy, to go have a fabulous lunch at the newly opened restaurant…The Grove.

The Grove Kitchen and Gardens is a fresh farm to table family-style restaurant. It features a chef-crafted menu set on a gorgeous, sprawling piece of land right in the heart of Tyler, Texas. The Grove is located at 3500 Old Jackson Highway which is about a 1.5/2 hour drive east of Dallas. It is open 7 days a week and serves lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

We truly enjoyed our lunch with the owner and executive chef. Some of my favorite dishes included the the local peach and goat cheese salad, the lamb lollipops, the watermelon feta sandwich, the in-house smoked sausage, and of course the dessert which was a divine blueberry cobbler.

So whether you’re just looking for a new place to lunch, dinner or brunch or you’re in the midst of planning your next party you should definitely give The Grove a try. They have many accommodations that include: an indoor/outdoor event space called the Greenhouse, a private dining room, meeting room, amphitheater and stage and of course a seasoned staff to assist you and handle all of your entertaining needs.

Not to mention a more than fabulous bar lounge. You honestly feel as though you could be sitting in a bar in the center of Manhattan while there. You can enjoy a lite menu or a full dinner menu from the kitchen before ten in the evening. And if you’re in the mood for a nightcap, the bar is open late night on the weekends so ordering a cocktail and a bite from the late night menu is even possible.

And for those of you that are having a craving for some delicious Texas BBQ you can order that at the Smoke Shack. The Shack serves farm-raised brisket, ribs, butcher-block filets and ice cold draft beer daily.

As I’m sure you can tell I highly recommend going to The Grove and taking a little road trip down I-20, if you’re from Dallas, like we all did. It’s a very short and simple drive. We wanted to go for lunch so the ladies and I met at Starbucks in Highland Park Village for a grind then we were on our way. After enjoying our scrumptious meal we hoped back in our cars and we were all back home well before dinner time. I bet if you live in Tyler or anywhere near East Texas I’m sure you’ve already heard all about The Grove.

I hope you all enjoyed this blog post. I don’t know about you but I’m sure hungry all of a sudden with all of this food chatter. Please be sure and let me know if you have been to eat at The Grove and what your thoughts are as well. Or if you plan on going after reading all about it here on SSS.
